William Addison Smith

In Loving Memory of Bill Smith, of Medina, Ohio, who passed away at the age of 74 on February 11, 2025, alongside his wife of 32 years. Born on June 17, 1950, in Medina, Ohio, Bill grew up cherishing the simple joys of life. A lifelong resident of Medina, he was the son of the late Addison and Virginia Smith, who instilled in him strong values of humor, devotion to friends and family, and the importance of hard work. 

Bill was a surveyor by trade, but his passions extended beyond his career. He was an avid Sudoku player, a crossword enthusiast, an accomplished golfer, and a devoted Cleveland sports fan. Bill was actively involved in his children Shawn and Katrina's sports during their upbringing. He never missed a softball game or practice, nor a track meet, always there to support and coach them. One of their favorite memories is of Bill driving alongside Shawn during his track training. Moments like these will remain etched in their minds. His knack for storytelling and infectious laughter made him a cherished presence among friends and family. 

Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Debi Smith, with whom he shared 32 years, two children—daughter Katrina (Cory) Fankhauser and grandchildren Gage and Kya, and son Shawn Smith and grandson Blaine. He is also survived by two stepdaughters, Tiffany (Brian) Walters and Jennifer Greene.
