Vincent Lee Morvatz passed away January 29, 2025 in his Akron, Ohio home after suffering from long-term illnesses. He was born February 19, 1960 in Canton, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Betty (Capper) Morvatz. He is survived by nine cousins.

Vince graduated from Carrollton High School in 1978 and University of Akron in ‘82. He was a singing telegram messenger for 42 Years for International Singing Telegrams and acquired his love of music from his mother’s beautiful singing voice.

Vince was known in the community for delivering the GPC newspaper, selling beads, and being a passionate gay activist including his role as a founding member of the Gay Lesbian Taskforce 

in ‘83 and G.L.O.B.A.L. in ‘91. He was also involved with numerous organizations and churches as well as the Akron Pride Center and enjoyed portraying Santa Claus. He had an insatiable love of food - He especially loved a good buffet- and movies. He also performed in numerous plays in the northeast Ohio area.

Vince will be missed by close friends Rada Jenkins, Christian Lyne, David Green, Kim Franchi Glover, Robert Holland and more. They and his family are comforted knowing he has joined in Heaven with so many of his friends lost over the years, including longtime companions Rick Kirk and Keith Dam.
