“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7).
Vicky Gurin, 68, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, after years of medical complications following her victorious fight against cancer. Though small in stature, Vicky was mighty in spirit, and her feisty nature left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her. Those blessed to share in her life will always remember her deep love for her pets and her piercingly beautiful blue eyes, which sparkled with warmth, mischief, and a lifetime of love.
Vicky was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Gurin; her parents, Peter Boncoski and Judith Starcher; her best friend, Jackie Wilson; and two cherished grandchildren, Emrick Taylor and Isabella Lape.
After David’s passing in 2002, Vicky found love again with Gary, with whom she shared nearly 20 wonderful years. She was embraced wholeheartedly by Gary’s children and grandchildren, who became a treasured part of her life.
A longtime resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Vicky found joy in volunteering, spending time with loved ones, and skillfully hunting for bargains at local thrift shops. She lived with a generous heart and a servant’s spirit, embodying “Do everything in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14).
She will be deeply missed by her family, including her siblings: brother Russ Boncoski and his wife, Julie; sister Denise Russell and her significant other, Darrell Richardson; brother Peter Boncoski; and sister Tracy Montgomery and her husband, Marty. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4).
Family and friends are invited to honor Vicky’s life at a graveside service on Tuesday, March 25, at 2:30 PM at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. A celebration of life will follow from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in the fellowship hall of Community Vineyard Church (rear entrance) in Cuyahoga Falls.
Vicky’s faith was her guiding light, and her love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. "Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of your Lord." (Matthew 25:23).
