Sumanlata Mathur, more commonly known as Suman Mathur, was born in India on June 27, 1938. In 1980, she moved to the United States with her husband and son to Warren, OH where she was one of the founding members of the Hindu Temple in Warren and a pillar in the Indian community. She lived a full and wonderful life, surrounded by family and friends.
She was a talented singer who enamored anyone with her sweet and beautiful vocals. Always one for showing others kindness, she never passed up the opportunity to help someone in need.
Suman Mathur had a vibrant social life and loved being surrounded by her friends and family. She created her own community away from her homeland and cultivated it with her whole heart. Always one for a signature style, she was never seen without her colorful saree, red lip, and bindi.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother: Vishwadeep Bhartiya, her husband: Harbans Behari Mathur, and her daughter: Aditi Mathur.
She is survived by son: Anant Mathur, daughter-in-law: Richa Mathur, two granddaughters: Veda Mathur and Ishita Mathur, as well as her brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Vijay Behari and Rama Behari. She also leaves many family members and dear friends to celebrate the colorful life she lived.
