Roger C. Lash

Roger Clair Lash, 87, of Stow, peacefully passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024. He was born August 4,1936 in Venetia, Pennsylvania to his beautiful mother Lois (Brown) Lash and John Lash (both deceased).  He was the eldest of five children (all boys).

Roger’s family moved from Venetia, Pennsylvania to live in Akron, Ohio for eight years, then to a small farm outside of Deerfield, Ohio.

Roger graduated in May of 1954 from Southeast High School in Ravenna, Ohio. He retired as a successful sales manager at Uniwear in Akron, Ohio. Roger had also been proud to work as a truck driver (hauling concrete pipe).

Roger will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Joan Lash. Brothers: Bruce Lash (deceased), Brian Lash (deceased), David Lash (Dorothy), Keith Lash (Linda),

Sister-in-law: Ruth Ehlert. Children: Mark (deceased), Patricia (deceased), Diane Lash, Robin May, Anita Francisco (Michael). Grandchildren: Chelsea Garrett, Elaine Brodzinski, Kristin Bushway (Matthew), Taylor May, Nicole Francisco, Katelyn Francisco. Great Grandson: Parker Frase, as well as his nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

 Roger was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who devoted his life to taking care of his family. He was very active in his community. Roger was an avid gardener and sportsman (baseball, golf, fishing and more). He loved Lake Erie. He was cultured and well-travelled. 

 Roger successfully trained German Shepherds in the Airforce at Whiteman Airforce Base in Johnson County, Missouri. Although he loved dogs, he could never manage to train our dogs at home.

He was a truly selfless person. He was always helping others, most often anonymously. He saw a need and he provided, his entire life. Always practical and never wasteful, Roger will be dearly missed.
