Richard George "Rickie Lee" Jones of Parma Heights, Ohio, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024. Richard was born May 25, 1953, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, to late parents George Edgar Jones Jr. and Wilma Joan "Willie" Shaughnessy and stepmother Suzanne Staman. Later in life, Richard adopted the name Rickie Lee.
Upon graduation from Riverside High School in 1971, Richard joined the Air Force and served the country during the Vietnam conflict as an avionics communications specialist, working on helicopters both in and out of country. Despite the environment of war, Richard found enjoyment in learning about the peoples and cultures of Southeast Asia, turning into a lifelong interest.
After the military, Richard turned hobbies into careers, with work including computer repair, master slingmaking and sewing, and refurbishing baseball equipment and vehicles. Richard returned to school and earned certification in computer networking and started a small business known as "TinkersToys". Fishing was also a lifelong hobby - Richard was always on the search to catch the biggest bluegill in the lakes of Ohio.
Remembering Rickie Lee include daughter, Aly Kanyok; siblings Rob (Wendy) Jones, KC (Jeff) Smith, Steve Jones, Leanne (George) Bell; feline companion Scuba; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family; and friends made across the globe.
