Richard James Atkins

Richard James Atkins, of Addison, Michigan, passed away on May 9th, 2023. He was born on March 12th, 1953. Richard spent over 30 years working as a dry wall finisher and during his career he also worked as a truck driver. After his retirement from dry wall finishing, Richard continued to drive a dump truck locally.

Richard was more than just his profession; he was a loving man who adored his family. 

Richard and Charlene meet in high school and were married for 52 years; Richard was the love of Charlene's life. During those years they formed an incredible bond that could be seen whenever they were together. In addition to his wife, Richard leaves behind a son Christopher Atkins and daughter in-law Dawn; as well as two grandchildren Seth and Autumn, two siblings Sara and Tommy (Bruce), two cousins Andy and Darlene, sister-in-law Bev Wells, and brother-in-law Dale Mcgraw. Richard also leaves behind his two dogs Pickles and Penny who he loved dearly. 

Richard had many hobbies over the years but he took the most pride in cutting his grass, which he did often and with great care. 

Richard is proceeded in death by his parents Harold and Barbara.

Although he will be missed by those who knew him personally or professionally, we take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with loved ones that have passed on before him.

In conclusion, we say goodbye to a remarkable man who will always be remembered for his kindness, joyfulness, and unwavering devotion to his family. May he rest in peace.
