Paul Breedlove

Paul Breedlove, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in Summa Barberton Hospital’s hospice care.  He was born on December 5, 1950, in Akron, Ohio to Karl and Jewell Breedlove (Johnson).  He was raised in East Akron and attended Seiberling Elementary School and Goodyear Junior High School.  As an adolescent, Paul played peewee and bantam football.  At Hower Vocational High School, he played varsity football, and especially thrived as a gifted, ever-evolving artist.  Paul was drafted into the Army and Vietnam War duty, from which he became disabled.  He embarked upon several entrepreneurial pursuits following his service.  Paul was a highly intelligent, loving, caring and insightful person, who loved smooth jazz and R and B music.

Unfortunately, a short time into his Walk Through the Stream of Time, chronic illness changed the course of his life and hindered Paul from embracing the fullness of his being during his lifetime.  He is gone from us and now in Jehovah’s memory.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; sister Ingrid Johnson, brother Hans Breedlove and niece Candace Breedlove.  Left to mourn his loss are his sister Cherry Breedlove of Akron, Ohio; brother Huston Breedlove (Gail) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; nieces Antoinette Kelley (Kevin) and Kenya Johnson of Akron, Ohio; Annique Johnson of Dallas, Texas; Karla Breedlove (Glyde) of Kansas City, Kansas; Monica Breedlove, MD of West Palm Beach, Florida; and nephews, Allen D. Walker II of Henderson, Nevada;  Brian Breedlove of Pennsylvania; Mario Breedlove, Esq. (Lindsy) of Fayetteville, Georgia; and great-niece Lakenda Johnson of Akron, Ohio; as well as many friends and other relatives.  

             Visitation will be at Adams Mason Funeral Home on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 12:00 noon, followed by memorial service at 1:00 pm officiated by Brother Richard Merkins.  Cremation and interment in the Veterans Section of Glendale Cemetery will take place at a later date.
