Patrick Leroy Eckard

Patrick L. Eckard, 71, originally of Canton, passed away after a long illness on December 20, 2024.  He was born November 17, 1953 in Canton, the son of the late George and Betty Eckard.  Pat served his country in the U.S. Air Force and later graduated from Stark State College.  He was very resourceful, and could fix just about anything.  Pat will always be remembered as a good father.  He was ornery and had a good sense of humor.  He was very laid back, and in his free time he enjoyed going fishing, watching Star Trek, and constructing model train sets.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Karen E. (Eckard) Kosonovich; and his grandson Justin.  Pat is survived by his sister Patricia  Louise (Eckard) Jones; children Paul Eckard, Tanya Eckard, Melinda Shahan, and Beth (Norm) Vanest; as well as EJ, Lynette, and Rochelle Doyle; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; as well as many other family and friends.  Per his wishes, cremation will take place.  Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
