It is with deep sadness that we share the news of passing of Patricia Ann Fuhrman
of Akron, Ohio. She left us on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the age of 75, after a
courageous battle with lung cancer. Patricia was surrounded by her loving
daughters during her final moments, offering them a chance to say their goodbyes.
Her departure came as a shock to all who knew her, and it was with great difficulty
that her family honored her wishes to not prolong her suffering. Patricia's strength
and grace throughout her illness were truly remarkable, and she will be missed by
everyone whose life she touched. We remember her with love and fondness in our
hearts.
Patricia entered this world on December 4, 1949, to Robert Fuhrman and Louanna
(Pence) Fuhrman in Akron. We can honestly say that she was the apple of her
Dad's eye. She lived in the Akron area most of her life. After graduating from
Garfield High School, she married Frank Butera, with whom she welcomed two
beautiful daughters, Jill and Samantha. While their marriage eventually came to an
end, they maintained a deep friendship that lasted a lifetime.
Patty was an avid reader and was often going to the library. After retiring from the
University of Akron, she found that her favorite job was working at the
Chamberlain Library. She preferred the simple lifestyle and really enjoyed sitting
in her chair watching either something on A&E or her favorite sports team, the
Indians aka Guardians.
She had many kitties throughout her life, Barney, Sneaker, Sweet Pea and her most
recent one, Gizmo, who she loved so much. She loved the sound of birds chirping,
flowers and Lou Lou who is Sam's fur baby.
She is survived by her daughters who will miss her more than she will ever
imagine, Jill Butera (John Patrick), Samantha Butera (John Royer). Her favorite
granddaughters, Juliana and Jada Patrick.
She is proceeded in death by her Mom and Dad and her sister.
