Norma Jean Mangus
1/30/36 – 5/24/24
Norma was born in Akron Ohio and resided in the area her whole life. She graduated Valedictorian from Springfield High School. After graduation, she worked as a secretary. In May of 1963 she married Don C. Mangus – being a loving and caring wife until his death in 2009. She then became a wonderful mother to her three sons: Kevin, Kyle, and Kerry. Norma was preceded in death by her parents Rex and Orpha Newbauer (who she loyally cared for in their later years), sisters, Winnie Eller and Nancy Duke.
Norma enjoyed playing the piano, growing flowers and working in her father’s garden. She dedicated her life to serving Jehovah God as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1947. She had a rich spiritual history that included spending time with the friends and working along with them in congregation’s activities. She enjoyed participating in the ministry and attending local and international conventions.
She was very thankful for the support of the friends especially during challenging times. She enjoyed scanning every magazine, book, and newspaper for recipes. She cooked meals for her family convinced they would not turn out well. Her family thought they turned out well “usually.” She spoke often about her large extended family always hoping the best for them. She was especially proud of her only granddaughter, Reilly – “Grandma Norma loved you very much”! Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
