Myron Weinstein

Myron Weinstein, 90, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024 at Maplewood Senior Living in Cuyahoga Falls. Myron, beloved son of Oscar and Sarah, was preceded in death by wife Barbara (Allison), as well as sister Betty Kaltenbach. He is survived by Daughters Wendy (Jeffry) Riley of Los Angeles, California and Denise (Philip) Long of Cuyahoga Falls, grandchildren Kathryn Long (partner Patrick McCormick) of North Carolina and Nicholas Long (wife Dawn) of Northeast Ohio, as well as by Myron’s sister Shirley Hewins of Mentor, Ohio.

Myron was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Trumbull and Geauga Counties (Middlefield) Ohio. After graduating college in Indiana, earning a degree in Radio Engineering, he served in the U.S. Army in Ft. Monmouth, Oceanport, New Jersey. As part of his service he taught electronics while in the Army. During this time he married Barbara Allison of Middlefield. Once he completed his service, they moved to Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where Myron worked for Magnavox and where they had their first daughter. They later moved to the Munroe Falls when he secured a position with Goodyear Aerospace and later Goodyear Tire and Rubber as an Electrical Engineer and had their second daughter. He received two patents while working for Goodyear and retired after working with Goodyear for 30 years.

He was a ham radio operator for most of his adult life and enjoyed making and flying model airplanes in his spare time. After enjoying repairing friends’ televisions for many years, Myron eventually ordered a kit to make his own console television. His love of electronics eventually turned into enjoying working with computers and a much loved I-Pad. After retirement, Myron had a chance to travel with good friend Ginny Scheck to North Carolina and Florida and also took a cruise to Hawaii.
