Michael S. Haenftling Sr.

Michael S. Haenftling, 58, of Akron, Ohio passed away December 3, 2022.  He was born March 14, 1964 in Akron, the son of the late Henry Haenftling and Ethel (Oliver).  Michael was a life long resident of Akron.  He graduated from Central Hower High School in 1982, and went to work in the tire mold industry for his whole career.  He was a devoted Cleveland sports fan and collector.  Michael was a very talented guitarist and local musician.  He had a passion for music and Rock & Roll.  More than anything, Michael will always be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, who was quick witted and had the ability to make everyone laugh.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings David and Kevin Haenftling; as well as his aunts Deborah and Pamela Oliver.  Michael is survived by his children Whitney Beall (Jake), Michael Haenftling Jr. (Cassie), and Ashley L. Hathaway (Jeremy); grandchildren Brittany Walker, Jadea Beall, Isabella Hathaway, Layla Wetzel, Emma Wetzel, Carter Hathaway, and Chase Haenftling; aunt Kathleen Dunigan (Oliver); siblings Sandra Jundzilo, Teri Wilson (Rich), Steve Haenftling (Sheri); Cindy Gibson (Jimmy); Jeff Haenftling (Carrie), and Carolyn Haenftling.  A memorial visitation will be 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street), where a memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM.  Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home and Crematory.  (330) 535-9186
