Michael Joseph Adams

August 14, 1972 — November 2, 2023

Akron

Michael Joseph Adams, age 51, went home to the Lord on November 2, 2023. He was born August 14, 1972; the fifth of six children born to the late Thomas Bingham Adams Sr. and the late Ruth Ann (Robbins) Adams. Michael grew up in the Ellet community, attending Windemere Elementary, Hyre Junior High, and Ellet High School. He had an Associate Degree in Business Management, and founded Bingham Enterprises and its subsidiary Branches and Broomsticks, LLC.

Michael was a kind, generous, and very loving man. He loved his family, and although he had no children of his own, he doted on his nieces (Melissa, Nicole, Tara, Jessica, Tricia, Lauren, Rachel, Haylee, Laura, Amanda, and Katrina) and nephews (Daniel, Victor, Steven, Sean, and Nate). He also loved his "fur babies", having had many over his lifetime: Raven, Casper, Loki, Odie, and Bones to name a few. Michael had the biggest heart and was beloved by all who knew him. He made friends easily, and adopted some of them as his extended family. To Michael, family didn't "end with blood". He could never say no to anyone in need, and was often taken advantage of because of his unyielding trust and kindness. He was a Christian man and a practicing Wiccan.

Michael loved playing lottery, Bingo, and going to casinos. He loved collecting comic books and was a huge super hero fan-- especially X-Men, Spiderman, and Teen Titans. Michael loved the holidays, Halloween and Christmas being his favorites. He loved to entertain guests and hosted many parties over the years. He had a green thumb, inherited from his Grandma Robbins, and always had a house full of plants. Michael got his talent and love of crafting from his Mother. He loved playing cards, board games, the Dallas Cowboys, and watching Charmed and Supernatural. He loved traveling, Canada, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Orlando Florida among the many places he visited, and going to flea markets and yard sales to find furniture to refurbish and give new life. He was a Renaissance Man.

Michael loved his family dearly. All of his nieces and nephews called him Uncle Mikie. He had a special bond with his older sister, Lisa. They were born only fifteen months apart, partners in crime, and there was nothing that they would not do for each other. Michael was devoted to his partner of over twenty years, the late Richard "Rick" R. Reed. Michael loved Rick's mother Lorena Reed as a second mother, and their family (the Reeds, Goodyears, and Haggards) as his family. He met his second long-term partner Jonathan Stevenson in 2017. They were together for six years, and Jonathan was at Michael's side when he passed on.

Michael was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Charles Edward "Shorty" Robbins, Margaret Eileen (Bostaph) Robbins, Reuben Albert Adams and Melinda Pearl (Keith) Adams; parents Thomas Bingham Adams Sr. and Ruth Ann (Robbins) Adams; brother Thomas Bingham Adams Jr.; partner Richard R. Reed; nephew Thomas Keith Faverty; father in-law Robert Reed; sister in-law Barb (Reed) Goodyear; brother in-law Boom Goodyear; and Michael Reed; Aunts Mary (John) Francisco; Nellie Adams; Betty (Gene) Stanley and Uncle Paul (Melrose) Keith.
