Mary C. Miller

Mary C. Miller, 86, peacefully slipped away from this life on May 2 at her Akron home, surrounded by family.  Born Jan. 2, 1937 in Curtice, OH, she was preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Herschel Collum, siblings Eugene Blount, Norma Brinker, Richard Blount, Roberta Crabtree and Shirley Alltop and her beloved daughter Brenda Manns (Roy).  She is survived by her children Kim Peterson, Carol Alexander (Jerry), Joni Dodge, Carl Peterson (Karen) and Diane Nauman (Peter).  Mary is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Nick Manns (BriAunna and Kaden), Angi Lumeyer (Lorelei), Sierra Lumeyer (Ruby and Ronan), Emmily Riley (Max, Alice and Stella), Brian Peterson (Hailee), Mary Peterson, Kevin Peterson, Amanda Nauman, Valerie Nauman and Rebecca Nauman.

Mary and her family greatly appreciated all of her friends and neighbors who assisted her and looked out for her wellbeing.

Mary was a hard-working, feisty, strong and loving woman who was a fierce defender of her family.  The walls of her home are filled with pictures of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, almost all of whom were able to visit, share stories and laugh with her in her last days.  Mary is already dearly missed, leaving holes in our hearts.

Per Mary’s request a family only service will be held.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Traditions Health Hospice or a charity of your choice.
