It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mark, also known as Popeye. He was a loving father, artist, and friend to many. Surrounded by loved one’s, his courageous battle with cancer came to an end; but in that same moment, his eternal life in Heaven began!
He retired after six years of service in the United States Navy. Outside of his military career, he expressed his personality and sense of humor through his passions for music and art. Whether strumming his guitar, playing the piano, or singing, his love for music was evident and shared with all.
He is survived by his children, Natalie Bourque (Jason), Jill Goff (Christopher) and Luke Peterson; his grandchildren, Brittany, Kayla, Haleigh, Wesley, Tristen, Gracie & Emma; 6 great grandchildren; siblings Renee (Dave) & Roslyn, step father Pat, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his church family. He is predeceased in death by his father Jerry Peterson, mother Dee Leelani, sister Rhonda, and nephew Larry.
Visitation will be 11:15 AM to 12:15 AM, Friday, January 31, 2025 at the Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street Akron, Ohio 44305), where a celebration of Mark's life will immediately follow at 12:15 PM. Following the service we will depart in procession for Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery for military honors.
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path God laid for me.
