Marilyn J. Sturmi

Marilyn Jane Sturmi nee Jost, 89, passed into her heavenly home on December 19, 2024. Marilyn was born December 16, 1935 in Akron, the daughter of the late Maurice and Myrtle Jost. She graduated in 1953 from St. Vincent - St. Mary High School, where she met her future husband James E. “Jim” Sturmi Jr. She married Jim on December 28th, 1957 and they were inseparable for 61 years. Marilyn dedicated her life to serve others and had a passion helping people while she worked in the medical field. Marilyn will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Aside from her faith, her family was everything to her. In addition to her parents, Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband Jim; and her sisters Phyllis Monahan and Patricia Kirn. She is survived by children Jeanne Fimmen; Jim (Christine) Sturmi; John (Louise) Sturmi, and Jeff (Kim) Sturmi; grandchildren Jonathan, Christopher, Sarah, Ben, Abby, Jimmy, Josh, Zachary, Jacob, and Lexi; 15 great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.  A special thanks to everyone at The Village of St. Edward, where she received excellent care in her final years.  Memorial donations may be made to The Village of St. Edward (3131 Smith Road, Fairlawn, Ohio 44333).  Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street), where funeral services will immediately follow at 4:00 PM.  Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
