Leslie Gene Cobb II, aged 56, of Akron, OH, passed into the next life with tranquility after a lengthy but courageous battle with illness, soon after spending the day with his daughter. Leslie, known to friends and family as Les, was born on May 1, 1968, in Akron, Ohio to Leslie Gene Cobb Sr. and Ethel Mary Goss. He graduated from Buchtel High School in 1986 and went on to join the army. As a service member, Les had the opportunity to travel across the country and the world, from places as far as Germany and as close as Texas. Some of his favorite activities included going to the park with his daughter and feeding the ducks. Les passed along his natural interest in history, world affairs, and dogs to his daughter, Madelyn. He fondly recalled an occasion where his daughter’s dog, a small cocker spaniel, successfully defended them both from a huge pit bull while on a walk. Another cherished memory includes him using the only object he could find to catch a bat that flew into their home from the fireplace: a snow shovel. Les is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Mary Goss, and his father, Leslie Gene Cobb Sr. His memory lives on with his brother, Lawrence Cobb of Akron, OH; his only child and daughter, Madelyn Amanda Cobb of Cleveland, OH; and many other family members and loved ones across the country, spanning from California to Georgia and across the state of Ohio. Visitation will be 10 AM to 12 PM Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street), where funeral services will immediately follow at 12 PM. Reverend Chris Machamer will officiate. Leslie will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
