Leon McKenzie

Leon McKenzie, 86, of Bedford, Pennsylvania, passed away July 2, 2023. He was born March 28, 1937, in Ulmer, South Carolina, the son of John Franklin McKenzie and Coye Lee Brant.

Leon loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed playing his harmonica and guitar. Leon would spend hours carving sticks and creating gifts for loved ones. He enjoyed conversations with friends and family. Most of his adult life was spent in Belvedere, South Carolina. The past eight years he lived in Bedford, Pennsylvania.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents John and Coye McKenzie, two sisters Annie Sue McKenzie and Kay Francis McKenzie, and his brother John Henry McKenzie.

Leon is survived by his sister Junie Lee Patricia McKenzie, nieces and nephews Jean Snodgrass (Eugene), Ronald Dickey (Karen), Jewel Burke (Henry), Patricia Daffner (Mike), Terry Crocker, and Darlene Ford (Garry), and numerous great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
