Joyce Ann George

Joyce Ann George, 79, passed away January 18, 2023.  She was born in Akron, the daughter of the late Francis and Helen Wood.  Joyce will always be remembered as a very strong willed person who loved her family.  She loved to plan holiday get togethers, baking, and in her earlier years she was an avid bowler.  She was very social and loved to make friends with everyone.  Joyce enjoyed trips to Hartville and Amish Country, as well as vacations to Lakeside.  She worked with her husband for a number of years at John M. George Architect.  Joyce volunteered for Akron Children’s Hospital with TWIGS and Friends of Children’s Hospital Harness Race Ralley.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John M. George; brother Charles Wood; and sister Dora.  Joyce is survived by her daughter Lisa (Bill) George; son Michael George (Ann Marie); brother Ralph (Doris) Wood; sister Donna Quisenberry; and brother Jerry (Linda) Wood; sisters-in-law Betty Click, Helen Kracker, and Gloria (Jerry) Ritch; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, January 23, 2023 at the Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street).  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Moore’s Chapel Cemetery in Bath Township.  Memorial contributions may be made to:  Akron Children’s Hospital.  Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
