Joseph Michael Horan

Joseph M. Horan was given peace and comfort by Jesus Christ after a long and debilitating illness. Joe was born in Akron, Ohio, on September 29, 1935. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Hulda Horan; his sisters, Mary Dodgen, Patricia Bayless, and Judith; and his second wife, Julia Horan. He is survived by his first wife, Shirley Horan, and their children, Michael, Dale, Colleen Freemon, Sean, and Darin, as well as his grandchildren, Alysa, Renea, and Andrea, and great-grandchildren, Samantha, Spencer, and Silvia. He is also survived by his children from his second marriage, Douglas and Thomas Benjamin, and his granddaughter, Mandy.

Joe retired from General Motors Corp. after 30 years of service: 22 years at Terex Engineering in Hudson, Ohio, and 8 years at the Truck and Bus Group in Detroit, Michigan. He was a faithful member and trustee of the United Methodist Church in Mogadore, Ohio. A memorial service will be held on August 17 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church, 3828 Mogadore Rd., Mogadore, Ohio.  Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home
