John Arthur Shandor, 77, passed away on July 18, 2024, in Doylestown, Ohio. Born on August 5, 1947, in Akron, Ohio, he was a lifelong resident of the state and a cherished member of the community.
A graduate of Garfield High School, John answered the call of duty and served in the United States Army. Upon completion of his military service, he channeled his discipline and work ethic into a successful career as an owner of a construction company. The company thrived under his leadership. His professional journey also included working alongside his brother Jim, installing nurse call systems across the country, a testament to his skill and versatility.
Beyond his professional life, John was known for his compassionate and generous spirit, he was an avid cross-stitcher, creating beautiful pieces that reflected his meticulous and artistic nature and his love for golf provided him with joy and relaxation. He will be remembered as a kind and caring individual, always ready to lend a hand or share a moment of companionship.
John’s Legacy is carried on by his loving family. He is survived by his long-term girlfriend, Nancy Patterson, his children, Laura Shandor, Joshua Shandor, and John Shandor; grandchildren, Justin Shandor (Felicia),Jordan Pipher (Zoe, Brooklyn, and James), and Jonni Shandor; and great grandchildren, Emersyn Shandor and Maverick Shandor; and nieces and nephews.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Adams and Mason funeral home in Akron, Ohio, to assist with cremation cost. Adams and Mason funeral home is overseeing the arrangements, ensuring that John’s final farewell is handled with care and respect.
