Jeffrey Alan Singleton, 64, passed from this life on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at his home in
Wadsworth Township. Jeff was born November 17, 1960, to John and Nancy Singleton in Norton, Ohio, where he
excelled in baseball, and graduated class of 1979. His greatest ambition was to follow in his
father’s footsteps and become a professional baseball pitcher, but an injury from a car accident
when he was a young adult ended his dream too soon. Jeff was able to overcome this loss and
pursue his second greatest dream, which was to become a patternmaker and wood craftsman,
following in the footsteps of his grandfather Albert Struck. He worked for several pattern shops
before starting his own business, Singleton’s woodworking. He ended his woodworking career
as a sawyer for Ogonek custom hardwoods. Jeff made many beautiful custom projects for
clients, but his greatest joy was custom building his own home. Anyone who has had the
pleasure of seeing his custom cabinetry, timber framing or furniture would be able to see his
talent and passion for the craft.
In 1988, he married his great love, Tamera J. Singleton (nee Hodge), and then later welcomed
two children, Ethan J. Singleton and Molly E. Singleton. He was a dedicated husband, father
and friend. Jeff was always willing to lend a hand or his expertise to anyone who needed it. A
family member described him as being, “ Strong as a gorilla”, with the mind of Einstein.
Some of Jeff’s other hobbies in life included golf, hunting, shooting, riding his BMW motorcycle, and fishing, particularly for the elusive muskie.
Jeff also took pride in being a cub scout and boy scout troop leader for Troop 127, and a little league coach, both for his son, Ethan.
Jeff could be quiet and reserved at times, but when speaking about one of his passions, he
could go on forever. Jeff loved to fool around with his children and their friends and was funny,
without trying to be. Not a person who met him had a bad thing to say. He was kind, smart and
pure hearted, so there is no surprise that he will leave a space in the hearts of his loved ones
that can never be filled.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and beloved grandparents. He leaves behind his wife
of nearly 37 years, Tammy, his children Ethan J. and spouse Dezie, beloved grandson Mason,
his daughter Molly E., his brothers Jeremy and John Singleton, and his many nieces, nephews
and cousins. Also survived by many friends, particularly, Denny, Kevin, David, Randy, Clam, Ric, Craig, and Dan.
A memorial service will be held at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 5451 S.Cleveland Massillon
