Jane Louise West

July 20, 1942 — June 12, 2024

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the passing of our beloved sister and mother, Jane West. She was born July 20, 1942 and passed away on June 12, 2024 at the age of 82. She was the greatest mother to Laura Ferre and Tim West. They are deeply saddened by their loss. We, her sisters, Loretta Lehman-Tomei (John) and Jennifer Dickey (Chris) will keep her in our hearts.

Jane graduated from Kenmore High School. After being married she lived with her family in Canal Fulton. Jane easily made friends at Saints Philip and James Church. She joined the Women's Renewal and worked at the Yankee Peddler booth for the church. As her children were growing up, she helped friends and neighbors, spent time caring for her parents. Looking toward the future she dreamed of a nursing career. By 1985 Jane was a registered Licensed Practical Nurse. While beginning her career in Florida, she had her Ohio family visit as often as possible. Eventually, the family returned to Ohio and she retired from Goodyear Medical Center in Akron, OH. Her home in Barberton where she spent countless hours at Lake Anna, talking to parents and young children that passed by. Being an animal lover, she had to scratch behind the ears of all the dogs she met there. She loved the ducks and the peaceful surrounding, often going to Mass at St. Augustine's Church.

Jane was Grandma to Jim Ferre MD (Alanna), Justin Ferre and Steven Ferre (Lauren). Jane enjoyed attending the boys' sporting events, cheering them on with the loudest voice from the stands.

She was Great-Grandma to Matthew, Jeffrey, Scarlett, Grant, and Thea. So unfortunate that she did not have more time with them. She was a "get down on the floor and play with me" kind of grandma.

Jane is preceded in death by parents, Ethel and Basil Reagan, her husband of 45 years, Walter (Skip), brothers Lawrence Reagan and Howard Reagan as well as sister in law, Peggy Reagan.

She leaves behind for her nieces, nephews, cousins, and coworkers a treasure of funny stories to repeat for years.

Ask anyone about Jane and they will say she was always a happy person. Willing to sacrifice her dignity to give everyone a good belly laugh. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. Jane truly will be missed by all who knew her.

A private internment at Holy Cross Cemetery has taken place.
