Irma Lorraine Earley

Irma “Mama” Earley went to be with God on November 1st, 2024. She was born to Irma Margaret Lyons and Charles Stephen Earley on December 29th, 1941. She was one of eight siblings, and was affectionately called “Renee” by her sisters.

Irma had many jobs in life, but the thing she valued most was being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to everyone who was lucky enough to know her. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (John “Skip”) Summerville, and her grandchildren Sarah (Matt) Rice, Aaron (Pam) Summerville, Matthew (Mindy) Bittle, Ede (Paige) Bittle, Hannah (Patrick) Pyett. She was a devoted caretaker and playmate to her great grandchildren, Tyler, Wyatt, Aubrey, Harrison, Gerald, Jackson, Olivia, Margot, and John and many nieces and nephews. “I love you more- I’ve been doing it longer.”

Mama was a listener, the kind of person who could coax the deepest hurts from a stranger. She laughed easily, and would never turn down a cup of coffee- splash of milk, three sugars.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Cora Crowder, Billy Earley, Dean Earley, Glenda Forshey, Lois Sutton, Louise Thomas, and Victor Earley and her great grandson Brodie. 

 Visitations will be at Grace Church Bath Campus 754 Ghent Rd. on Friday, November 8th. There will be two visitations: 11am-1pm & 3pm-5pm. The funeral will take place directly after the last visitation at 5pm. 

 In lieu of flowers, we ask that any donations be sent to Project Ed Bear or Hope Farms. Project Ed Bear is an organization that was very near and dear to her.
