Gordon Endicott, 77, passed away peacefully with the comfort of his family by his side on March 11, 2025. Cancer Sucks. Period.
Born on April 15, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pa., Gordon spent the majority of his life in the Akron/Portage Lakes area and graduated from Buchtel High School. Gordon was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He also proudly retired following 38 years of dedicated service from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
Gordon was preceded in death by his Father Gordon W. Endicott, Sr., his Mother Hazel Endicott (Lovelace), and his Brother James D. Endicott. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 57 years, Brenda Endicott (Lee), daughter Alissa Endicott, and grandchildren Olivia and Jakob Endicott. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory nieces, nephews, extended family, and recent, as well as life-long friends.
No matter if you knew him as Gordon, Gary, or his nickname Spanky, all would agree he left an unforgettable impression. Whether it was with his humorous storytelling or experiencing one of his ‘world renowned’ burgers on the grill; he lived to gather with the people he loved at cook-outs, poker runs, or while hunting for the best deals at auctions.
The family would like to extend special appreciation to the exceptional staff on 7east at Summa Akron City Hospital, especially Nicole RN, for the kind and compassionate care given to Gordon and his family during such a sacred time. And also to Stephanie Pelech, LMT and reiki master, who recently befriended Gordon and was instrumental in providing him with peace and comfort.
All are invited to a celebration honoring Gordon’s life that will be held on April 26, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Army Navy Club Union 250 located at 2970 N. Bender Avenue, Portage Lakes, Ohio 44319.
