In Loving Memory of Gladys A. Hilgert, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, peacefully passed away on July 17, 2023. Born on November 7, 1948, in Lima, Honduras to Ovidio Ayala and Crescencia Castro. Her life was filled with love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Gladys will forever be remembered by her beloved husband, Robert S. Hilgert, who shared countless precious moments with her throughout their journey together including gardening, fishing, and traveling. She was also a loving presence in the lives of her blended family.
Gladys leaves behind her loving daughter, Norma Mejia. Her grandchildren Jacquelin Clark, Joslyn Cebollero, and Christian Mejia. Her great-grandchildren: Delano, Khloe, River, and Averie. All of whom she adored. She is also survived by her caring siblings: Norma Lopez (Miguel), Orlando Ayala (Esther), and Esther Benitez (Oscar). Her many nieces and nephews, including her special bond with niece, Susy Lopez. Her memory will be cherished by her immediate family and her wider circle of loved ones.
In accordance with Gladys's wishes, there will not be any services or funeral held to commemorate her life. Instead, she kindly requests that donations be made to St. Joseph Parish in Mogadore, Ohio, in her memory. This contribution will honor her faith and the values she held dear.
Gladys A. Hilgert's legacy of hard work , continuing education, and unconditional love will forever echo through the lives of her family and friends. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory bring solace and strength to all those who mourn her loss.
