Gilbert Roland Swisher

Gil Swisher 72 passed away after a short battle with cancer on December 1, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents Ural Swisher and Thelma Swisher Stephenson; sisters Sandra Wheeler and Eleanor Seaver; son Michael Swisher, and granddaughters Samantha Swisher and Rebecca Tomlinson.He is survived by his wife of 54 years Naomi Swisher, sisters Sue Layton and Wilinda McCarthy; sons Jason and William Swisher, daughters Kristy (Dave) Thompson, and Jennifer (James) Tomlinson, as well as 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.  He is retired from doing restaurant repair, SIT Strings, and decades of construction and home remodeling.Gil was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather with many friends that looked up to and learned a great deal from him, least of which were a good work ethic and compassion toward others.  A very special thank you to everyone at Mercy Hospital, Summa Care Hospice and primary care physician, Dr. Rine, for everything they did for him and our family in the last 9 months. Also, special thanks to his friend and spiritual advisor of over 30 years, Elder John Richards.  Per his wishes, Gil will be cremated and no services will be held.
