With profound sadness we announce the passing of Ellie, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on May 22, 2023.
She left us while sleeping peacefully at Life Care Center of Elyria. She was in her 89th year.
She is the beloved mother of Diane, Arthur, James, Lawrence, Kurt and Eileen and proud grandmother of Anna, Kate, Joshua, Zack, Deena, Mathew, Michael, Charles, Christian, Clayton, Sophia, Angel, and Adrianna. She has one great granddaughter as well - dear Mari.
Predeceased by her husband Arthur, sister Josephine, and parents Sophia and John.
Ellie lived a full life as a wonderful mother and homemaker while raising her children. She loved to cook, kept an immaculate home and embodied her role as the ultimate mother and nurturer, first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. After her children had grown, she discovered that her gift for gab translated well into a sales role and won several international trips in recognition of her home party sales successes. Later in life, she pursued a home health care career, providing loving care, companionship, and wonderful ethnic meals to senior shut-ins.
Ellie’s personality lit up a room and she could talk to anyone. She put everyone she met at ease by talking and listening to them. Her kindness, generosity of spirit, and ability to forgive are part of her legacy. Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her children the strong values that have served them well.
She believed in the presence of angels and now walks with them. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A forthcoming celebration of Ellie’s life will be held at the home of her son, James, in Brecksville. An email from the family will be sent to invitees at a later date.
The Nightingale
by Vivian Ross
My beautiful Mother, my Angel
Precious nightingale,
you are now free in Heaven
to sing and praise our Lord
without a worldly care.
I hope that GOD in all His Might
will in a dream let me see
how HE now in His arms
holds and fills you with
Eternal Joy and Peace.
To see you laugh
and hear you sing
in God’s presence
is my dream.
