Edward Wayne Muir, age 83, peacefully slipped away on April 29th, 2023 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born November 2, 1939 in Akron.
Preceded in death by parents, Luther and Virginia (Shoff) Muir and his nephew Michael Krzykoski.
Survived by his sister, Lynne (Steve) Krzykoski; daughters: Lora Putnam, Lisa Muir & Chris Muir (Brian Villers). Grandchildren: Brett Putnam, Katie Putnam, Leah Maturano (Danny), Nathaniel (Paige) Muir, Chloe Muir and Brody Muir-Johnson; Great-grandchildren: Cora and Lucas; and nephew, John Krzykoski. He is also survived by his mini canine protector—Princess.
Eddie was a graduate of Ellet High School, class of 1957 and an Eagle Scout.
Dad was an excellent provider, often working two jobs. He was a tire builder at General Tire; specifically truck tires or any of the dirty or boiling hot jobs that General offered—especially, if it paid more. Later, he was a furniture salesman and automotive service manager at Montgomery Ward.
He loved taking care of his swimming pool, yard, and having picnics. In the Spring, he would come home with pallets of tomatoes, peppers, and flowers to plant. Dad was always up for a good flea market—in search of another snowman, vintage iron, oil lamp, or to find the perfect vintage postcard for your birthday.
He was the Papa that played on the floor with the grandkids. A little known fact is that he was also a crafter (usually snowman themed).
Known for his friendliness, Ed will be sorely missed by all who knew him—especially for his unconditional love, acceptance, and caring attitude for others. For those who did not know him personally, he was that kind older man that came through your line at the store or sweet patient that every healthcare worker loved to care for. He may not have been perfect, but he was always willing to improve.
Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home. Final resting place is at Hillside Memorial Park in Ellet. The family is planning a celebration of life picnic in June.
