Doyle B. Roberts, 79, passed away peacefully February 8, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born in Orma, West Virginia, the son of the late Horace and Leslie Roberts. Doyle retired from J Rayl Transport with over 30 years of service.
In addition to his parents, Doyle is preceded in death by his grandmother Susie Carpenter; sister Bernice Tingler; nephew Todd Roberts; niece Shelly White; great niece Megan Nichols and great nephew Michael McCollister.
Doyle is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara Roberts; sons David (Donna) Roberts and Michael (Christina) Roberts; grandchildren Michael (Carly) andBrittany Roberts, Andrea and Justin King, Michael, Sophia and Joseph Roberts; great grandchildren Reese, Madeline and Sutton Roberts and “soon to be” Jayden Brooks Freeman, due in July; niece Brenda (Bruce) Jones; children Suzie (James) Marks, Jessica (Timothy) Lunsford and Caleb (Breanna) Jones; grandchildren William, Coy and McKenzie Marks, Cameron Taylor, Nicholas and Abygail Lunsford, Connor and Anderson Jones; nephew Rob (Virginia) Roberts; mother-in-law Wanda Caudill; sister-in-law Vickie White; children Darrel and Johnny White; grandchildren Dale White, Hannah (Marvin) Taylor, Faith (Jon) Hardy, Grace White, Johnny Lee White Jr, Austin White and Cody White; great-grand children Deon, AviYah and Isaiah Taylor and Chase Hardy; brother-in-law Edward (Donna) Reeder; children Edward Reeder and Tiffany (Mike) Needs; grandchildren Rebecca and Evan Reeder, Cynthia, Madison and Jackson Needs; sister-in-law Lana (Karl) Kennedy; children Todd (Amy) Kennedy, Tonya (Jim) Snyder and Tuddy Kennedy; grandchildren Marcie and Madelon Snyder, Ethan and Sammy Kennedy and Laz Kennedy; sister-in-law Cheryl (Bill) Best; children Heather (Jeff) McCollister and Billy (Betsy) Best; grandchildren Mackenzie, Caden and Luke Best, Bailey, Liam, Connor and Adalyn McCollister; brother-in-law Kevin (Patrice) Reeder; children Drew Reeder and Danielle (Caryn) Lasko; grandchildren Colin and Luke Reeder.
Doyle loved hard. He loved his family with his whole heart and soul. He loved being a grandpa and even more being a great-grandpa. He was known as “Pops” to family and friends. He was a best friend to so many and a stand-in father and grandpa to so many more.
He loved hunting, fishing on Lake Erie, and spending time with family and friends at the cabin and the beach.
This Gentle Giant will forever live in our hearts.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, February 25 at 11 am at St Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Doylestown, Ohio. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
