Dorothy J. May

Dorothy J. May was born on April 13^th, 1931, to her parents John and Mildred Diefendorf, in Akron, Ohio. She grew up in Akron, Ohio with her parents and 10 other siblings. Dorothy received her education in the Akron Public School district.

Dorothy departed this life on Friday, August 18, 2023, after a brief illness. She was proceeded in death by her parents; her sisters Betty Snyder, Anna Mae Diefendorf, Madeline King, June Sabo, Mary Burchett, Ella Jean Glassner, and Naomi Lytle; her brothers Henry, John Emmit, and Kenneth Diefendorf; and her grandson, Michael May.

Dorothy is survived by her three children: Deborah Kennedy, Gail May, and Carl May. Also surviving are her four grandchildren: Bobby May, Christina May, Sarah May, DeEtta Kennedy, and many great grandchildren.

Dorothy J. May will be missed by all her family and her special friends at Green Village, where she lived since 2019.

Per her request, cremation has taken place and there are no formal services planned. A celebration of life to be announced later.
