Dorothy A. Mattevi

Dorothy A. (Reed) Mattevi, 91, went home to be with Jesus, June 3, 2023, surrounded by family in North Canton home.  She was born January 4, 1932, in Hiawassee, Georgia, the daughter of Marion B. Reed and Leona I. (Hogsed) Reed.

Dorothy graduated in 1950 from Canton South High School. On June 2, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart and shared 68 years together.  Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, crafting, sewing, gardening, camping, and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents Marion B. Reed and Leona I. (Hogsed) Reed, her husband Donald L. Mattevi, two sisters and brothers-in-law. Jimmy (Jim)Burnett, Margaret (Chester) Todd, and one grandson, George Cordell.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Sandra (Joe)of North Canton, Gary (Kim) Mattevi of Goodyear, AZ, Gale Grisez of Canton, 10 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and her special pet Willie.

A private service will be held at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
