Dorothy Ann Adkins

June 2, 1951 — December 21, 2024

Ravenna

Dorothy (Dottie) Adkins, 73 years of age, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at UH Portage Medical Center. Dottie was born June 2, 1951 in Akron, Ohio to the late Gladys and Ernie Williams. She was the oldest sibling to Ernie Guy Williams Jr. and Mike Williams. Dottie was a beloved hardworking STNA for over 25 years. Her ever-growing love and care was spread not only through her family but also includes the clients and patients she care for over the last couple decades. Dottie married the late Jack Allen Adkins in Catlettsburg, Kentucky on January 13, 2001. During their union, Dottie and Jack shared seven total children. All of which include Amanda (Kenny) Hodges and their four children; Destiny Hodges (Tommy), Alexis Hodges, Brooke Hodges, and Chloe Hodges; Jennifer Wyman and her four children; Hailey Carpenter, Bryanna Carpenter, Jamaya Johnson and Jamar Johnson Jr.; Scott Allen (Krystle) Adkins, Brandon (Desiree) Adkins, Jacob Slavens, Christi McCoy, and Jonda (Brian) Blankenship. They also share seven other grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Dottie devoted her life to Christ early on in life and became a member to the Lakemore Methodist Church. In her free time, she loved playing bingo and spending time with family and friends whether it be in person or in conversation over the phone. She was a joy-filled, loving and caring soul who would do anything for anybody. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her is to love her.” Dottie was a woman of principle and courage, who was always firm for what she believed in, and is from her taught many to stay strong. Not only known as being a strong but stubborn figure, she was a woman of gentle smiles and caring words. While we all stand deeply grieved by the loss of an amazing woman, we are all so thankful for the time and opportunities spent with her. After all, not too many have such a privilege knowing someone as remarkable as her. We may have lost her physically, but we firmly believe, and she also does, that someday Christ will reunite us again. As we eagerly wait for that day, we keep her in our minds and hearts, where her memory lives on for as long as we shall do. As the saying goes, “It’s not good-bye, but a see you later.” Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330)535-9186
