Donald Eugene Stiles, (62), of Akron Ohio gained his wings on June 14, 2024 after a short, courageous fight with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was born on July 19, 1961 in Akron Ohio. He graduated from Ellet High School in 1979 and continued his schooling at the University of Akron where he earned a degree in Business. He helped his father, John, run AC/DC discount store all of his life.
Proceeded in death by his father John Stiles; uncle Ron Stiles; and aunt Mildred Stiles
Donald is survived by his mother Donna Stiles; wife Vicki Stiles; his two daughters Becky (Anthony) Elliott and Krissy (Matthew) Stiles; two grandchildren KaLeigh Stiles and Miyah McMasters; sister Barbara (John) Massie; two nieces Melissa Stiles Rico and Kaitlin McClung; and many other family, friends, and customers.
Donald was very active with his kids, as he was their softball and basketball coach through Ellet Baseball Association. It brought him a sense of accomplishment to watch his kids (and their teammates and friends) grow into such beautiful, strong, kind, and competitive people. He enjoyed watching basketball, football and baseball on TV. His favorite teams were the Cavs, Miami Dolphins, and the Cleveland Indians. He would always say “well there’s always next year” whenever the seasons were over. Donald found a new sense of life, when he decided to go back to church 7 years ago, and found Jesus again.
Donald was a kind, generous guy who loved with his whole heart. He would do anything for anyone just to put a smile on their face. He would answer the phone with “Yello” and not hello. He did not want to be bothered with any hate or drama in his life and he would look at you and say “drama, drama, drama” to let you know, kindly, he was over you talking. He was a simple man who just wanted peace. He will forever be in the hearts of all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
We would like to say a generous thank you to all that has cared for our father during these last couple months of his life. The staff at Summa Hospital, Summa Rehab, Tallmadge Health and Rehab, Summa Hospice, and Pastor Dan & Nancy for giving him the grace of accepting Jesus back into his life. He had nothing but positive things to say about the care he was receiving. Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts.
Upon Donald’s request, no services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
