Dawn Marie Roman

Dawn Marie Roman, graced this world with her presence November 15, 1972. She was born in Akron, OH. She departed physically April 14, 2023, after a brief but fierce battle with cancer.

Dawn was known to many as Wonderful Dawn. She was known for her quick wit, charm, creativity and eccentricity. Dawn had an unwavering dedication to recovery and the recovery community as she was quite passionate about carrying the message of hope that she herself lived. She had over 16 years of recovery and over that time touched many lives. She dedicated her time to her sponsees and adored her sponsor Bill. 

She advocated for mental health and spoke openly about breaking the stigma surrounding mental health struggles and was an example that recovery is possible. Dawn was a spiritual person and lived her life in a way that was humble and gracious. She was a loving and dedicated daughter, mother, sister and friend.

Dawn is survived by her father Robert Roman, son Simon Roman, brother Daniel Roman (Lauren), sister Denise Roman and  (Shorty) Laverne Messenger and Herb. She is proceeded in death by her mother Charlotte Roman and best friend Robert Messenger.

Dawn will be deeply missed but left the world full of wonder and better than she found it.
