Dale E. Heinz

Dale E. Heinz, 78, of Barberton, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Hospice of Western Reserve in Medina, Ohio. His body lost its battle to cancer, but his soul went to be with the Lord.

Born on January 19, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a son of the late Emerson and Agnes (Kelly) Heinz. Dale attended Eastlake North High School and graduated in 1965.

Throughout his life, Dale enjoyed playing the drums, bowling, and golf. He was a skilled craftsman that not only built many pieces, but also relationships and memories with loved ones. He proudly served his country in the United States Army on active duty from 1968 until 1971.

Dale is survived by his two children, Kelly (Mike) Sherman, and Matt (Ashley) Heinz. In addition, he had seven grandchildren: Ethan, Mackenzie, Nicole, Alexis, Olivia, Cadence, and Isaac, who lovingly referred to him as “Dicky Doc” or “Dickey Doc” (the everlasting debate over spelling will continue). Dale is also survived by his younger brother, Dave (Bobbie-Jo) Heinz.

Cremation has already taken place and per his request a small ceremony for family will be at a future date. The ceremony, with military honors, will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
