Copley

Constance R. Riddel, 88, passed away on 4/5/2023 in Copley, OH, after a recent cancer diagnosis.
Constance was born August 10, 1934 in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of Josephine (Kubica) and Walter Niedzinski. She was a graduate of Saint Stanislaus School and Central High School (1952), both in Bay City. After graduation, she embarked on an adventure in living across the country. Her first stop was in Kansas City, MO for a few months before moving to Los Angeles, CA. Constance worked for a car dealer and helped introduce the first ever Ford Thunderbird in print media. After 2 years, she moved to Alamogordo, NM where she worked at the Holloman Air Force Base. It was here that she met and married her husband, Clyde K. Riddel. They made many friends that shared memories of their bowling leagues and parties on the white sands. After their first daughter was born in NM, the family moved to Akron, OH, where they welcomed two more children.
Constance was a home-maker who volunteered with the PTA and as a poll worker. She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. She also was a committed blood donor, giving over 115 pints of blood.
Constance was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Joan Hupe. She is survived by her children, Patricia Johnson of DeLand, FL; Kathryn (Eric) Soudry of Akron, OH; and John Riddel of Centerville, OH; grandchildren Ariel Soudry of Richmond Heights, OH; and Alec Soudry of Cincinnati, OH; sister-in-law Patricia McMichael of Crestline, Ohio; and special cousin Patsy Pelletier of Flint, MI.  Special thanks to her caregivers from Wings of Love.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to an animal rescue organization or a blood donation at your local Red Cross facility.  Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
