Christopher Allen Collins (Chris) went home to be with his Heavenly Father on January 28, 2025.

Christopher was born in Akron, OH on November 30, 1957, to the union of Eloise and Coolidge Collins Sr. He was a 1976 graduate of Akron Buchtel High School. Although he did well in school, Chris had it in his heart to go and serve his country. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. While in service, he received the Marksman Badge M-16. Chris was honorably discharged in 1981. While serving his country was one of his proudest accomplishments, his love for Jesus ranks even higher. If you wanted to know anything in the Bible, he would be able to guide you. He rekindled his relationship with Jesus later in life, and the fire still burned bright in his heart until he passed away. Surely the Angels are rejoicing that heaven has gained another one.

Chris had a very calm and chilled demeanor. There was never a stranger that he met. He was very friendly and outgoing. He treated everyone like a friend. He was known in his apartment complex to be a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved sports betting and playing the lottery. He and his older brother Bug were known to frequent the casino, and dog races. Going out to eat and ordering take out was enjoyment for him as well. He loved to eat, especially Chinese food. They knew him well at his favorite Chinese buffet. Chris was the baby of the bunch. All his siblings treated him as such. I’m sure all 5 of them were waiting for him at Heaven’s Gate to welcome their baby brother in.

He is preceded in death by his father Coolidge Collins Sr. Sisters: Sharon, Carrie, and Betty Jo. Brothers; Thatist (Duckie), and Coolidge (Bug). He will be greatly missed by his devoted mother, Eloise McDonald. Sister, Sylvia Thomas; and Brother: Jimmie (Vicky), along with a host of family and friends.

John 11:25-26 “Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”
