Charles "Chuck" Jacobs, 97, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025. He was born on May 5, 1927, in Akron, Ohio, to the late John and Mary Jacobs.
A proud World War II veteran, Chuck was truly part of the greatest generation. He worked at Goodyear Aerospace until retirement, walking to and from work daily for decades—never complaining. An avid athlete, he enjoyed handball, running, weightlifting, cycling, and shooting hoops in the driveway with his sons and grandkids. But above all, he cherished his family, never missing a game, recital, or event. He was always planning trips, big and small, to spend time with his loved ones.
His grandkids will always remember his candy cupboard, his Halloween mask scares, and his signature leg-locks (ouch, Grandpa!). From bike rides in the driveway to trips to the dollar store and breakfasts with him and Grandma Flo, Grandpa Chuck made even the simplest moments special. If heaven has a backyard, you can bet Grandpa Chuck is already helping God mow it.
He is survived by his four children: Ron (Pam) Jacobs, John-David (Anne) Jacobs, Diane (Tom) Triola, and Craig (Beth) Jacobs.
Chuck loved all of his 17 grandkids: Michael, Michelle, Nicole (Josh), Emily (Caleb), Mary Alice, Krista, John-Marc, Drew, Jaina, Brandon (Celeste), Nicholas (Erica), Lauren (Ethan), Lindsay, Tiffany (Adam), Courtney, McKenzie (Dennis), and Logan.
He had 16 great grandkids who he also dearly loved.
Chuck now joins his parents, John and Mary, his beloved granddaughter, Mary Alice, his brothers Harold, Jack, and Ray, and his wife, Florence, in the presence of Jesus. His family will miss him dearly and remember him as a strong, resilient, and loving man who did everything for his family.
A special thank-you to Marina Anderson, who took care of Dad at Shepherd’s Gate. She made him feel so loved, and he genuinely loved her. She made him laugh, and he made her laugh in return. He will also be missed dearly by Sherry, Aubrey, Judy, Cassidy, and his good friend Marie Papano, along with others who cared for him.
