Charles A. Hunter

Charles A. “Charlie” Hunter was taken to his heavenly home to be with Jesus on February 9, 2025 at his home in Orrville, Ohio following a brief illness in Akron City Hospital. Charlie was born on July 14, 1938 at home in Brinkhaven, Ohio. He was #4 of 9 children born to James and Opal (Randles) Hunter. Upon the death of his father, when Charlie was 13 years old, he was raised by Preacher Ray and Mary Grudier of Cambridge, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his siblings Gene Albertson, Bob, Dorothy, Bonnie, Ray, Paul, and twins Earl and Carl Hunter. Charlie and Helen (Chapman) were married on August 18, 1973 in Millersburg. They are the parents of Jason (Carolyn) and their son Jace; Travis (Shantel) and their son Lukas; and another grandson Jackson Hunter. Charlie worked at J.M. Smucker Co. in Orrville for almost 50 years. He loved his job and his wonderful co-workers. Charlie and Helen loved traveling in their R.V. and camping with their boys all over the U.S. Our favorite place was in Florida with Lynn and Steve Scherer, formerly from Orrville. He was also survived by Bill Radford (Dani), Dustin Johnson, and Diego Gonzales.  Sylynce, Sierra, Mike (Noy) and their best friend Jann Henthorn. Carolyn Hunter was always there to help with his much needed care with hospice. Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 8, 2025 at First Church of God (1953 Akron Road in Wooster, Ohio. Everyone is welcome to attend.
