Carl D. Rogers

Carl Dean Rogers Jr was born to Carl Rogers Sr and Vernice (Holt) Rogers in Akron, Ohio on Aril 10, 1948. He was very close to his beloved brother Tony Rogers and was preceded in death by his younger brother Terri Rogers. Carl graduated from Garfield High School in 1967. He attended Kent State but found his niche in sales, spending his working years with companies such as Acme, Cotton Club, Coca Cola, Anheizer Busch, Heidelberg and Kehe Foods. He was married to Deborah (Johnson) Rogers for 22 years. They had two children, Deric Rogers, Deana (Rogers) Davis (Derrick Davis) and one very loved grandchild, Zane Davis. Carl was very active in his children’s lives and spent many years attending all of their activities and coaching various sports teams. Carl loved to cook, enjoyed playing many years of golf, liked to toil in the garden, had an affinity for buying watches, shoes and kitchen gadgets, and appreciated a good whiskey! Carl never met a stranger. He loved to talk to people, always had a smile on his face and had a kind heart. He will be deeply missed.

Carl found his way to Heaven on Friday July 21, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Rogers Sr, mother Vernice (Holt) Rogers, brother Terri Rogers, son Devin R. Rogers, sister-in-law Patricia Rogers, and loving companion of 15 years Mary Lackey.

Services will be held at Adams Mason Funeral Home, 791 E. Market Street, Akron OH 44305. August 18, 2023 from 2-4 pm
