Bonnie Lyn Hobbs

Bonnie Lyn Hobbs, age 63, passed away April 14, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic Hospice Center, after a long battle with numerous illnesses.  

Born in Akron, Ohio, Bonnie was a lifelong resident of Barberton, graduated from BHS, and went on to a career at Barberton Hospital, with her most recent position being a surgery tech.  In the 80s, she enjoyed becoming the proprietor of Bonnie's Browse Around, a shop specializing in children's wear.  She liked to travel, and socialize  with family and her many friends.  She took good care of the people around her, and was kind and generous to any person in need.  Bonnie was hardworking, funny and bright, and is grievously missed.

Bonnie tragically lost her son, Ryan, shortly before she passed.  She is also preceded in death by her parents, James and Patricia Hobbs; brother, James Hobbs; grandparents, Walter and Bonnie Mervine; nieces, Misty McClelland and Jaclynn Hobbs; nephews, Mark McClelland  and Jackson Kufchak; her life partner, Robert Tanski; special friend, Bill Greer, and numerous other cherished friends.

Left to treasure her memory are her grandchildren, Serenity and Zayden; brother, Walter Hobbs;  sisters, Mickie Brown, Terry (Alan) McKee, and JoAnna (Mark) McClelland; nieces, Karia (Craig) Lanken, Patricia (Jerome) Dean, Jamie Medina, Jillian Gowdy, Sara Hobbs, Heather (Nick) Fling, and Sissy McClelland; nephew, Jesse Hobbs; Aunt, Elsie Knight; cousins, Rickie Knight, Kellie (Rick) Cunningham, and April Knight; numerous great-nieces and nephews, and many friends and co-workers.

Cremation has taken place.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 4, 11:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Cemetery, 2580 Romig Rd.  It's a service for Bonnie and her son, Ryan, together, and their remains shall be interred together. 

The family extends our deepest gratitude to all the loving extended family and friends who blessed us with help during this difficult time, as we struggled through these special final arrangements for mother and son. "...Love one another..."  John 13:34
