Billy Joe England, 74, of Medina, OH, passed away on May 26, 2023, at Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center, Akron, OH after an eighteen-month battle against leukemia and receiving a bone marrow transplant. Born in Charleston, WV, Bill spent his youth in the Cleveland, OH area until he was drafted into the United States Army (“Big Red One”) in 1967 during the Vietnam War.
After 50 years in the scaffolding and formworks & shoring industry, Bill retired just six months prior to his passing as the Regional Executive of Unispan USA. A true patriot, Bill enjoyed organizing motorcycle trips to visit and support our military at the 82nd Airborne Division & USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Aircraft Carrier, escorting The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall and visiting the crash sites of 9/11/2001. Bill loved camping in Ohio State Parks, landscaping, attending swim meets and his loyal dogs, Gizmo & Piper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Roy England and Betty Lee (Burgess) Green, and sister, Kathy England.
He leaves behind his wife, Lorna (Grim) England and stepson, Logan Rogers. Siblings; Nancy England, Steve (Renae) England and Donna (Mike) Robertson. Half-siblings; Michael Roy England, Michelle England-Kersey and Mark England. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and the best group of friends a man could be blessed with.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials in Bill’s honor to your local animal rescue or Veterans organization would be a wonderful tribute and much appreciated.
