Betty Lee Long

Betty Lee Long passed away on August 18th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on May 1, 1944, in Akron, OH to Robert and Anna Velma Johnson. She was the youngest of 8 children and was a lifelong resident of the Akron area. She is survived by her husband James D. Long and two children, James R. Long (wife-Lorna), David Long (partner-Marc), grandchildren-Christian (Erin), George, Michael, Kaleigh, and Teylor. Betty cooked from the heart and served others her entire life. She worked for Hoban High School (kitchen) and First Congregational Church of Akron (caterer/cook) for many years before retiring. Jim and Betty were blessed to celebrate their 60th Anniversary of their marriage on July 14, 2024.

A funeral mass for Betty will be held 11:30 AM Friday, August 23, 2024 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church (4019 Manchester Road Akron, Ohio 44319), where the family will receive friends one hour prior to mass.  Following the mass, she will be laid to rest at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park (2613 Sackett Ave., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.)
