Benita Louise Derrington

On January 12, 1963 a queen “B” was born. Benita Louise Derrington “Bonnie” as she was affectionately called. Benita made her peaceful transition from this earth to her reward on January 17, 2025. She was born and raised in Akron, Ohio by our faithful and loving single mother Leona Derrington.

 Benita was proceeded in death by her Mom Leona Derrington, sister Debra Farr, nephew Dominic Farr, special friends Harold Carter and Gussie Hargrove.

 Benita leaves to forever cherish her loving memory sister, Charlotte McClay (Horace) Pa, Larry Derrington & Theodore Derrington, niece Donna Montgomery & family, niece Chalena McClay, great nephew, her man-man Ja Karii McClay, sister-cousin-friend, Cheryl Hammonds (Eddie), Lifelong sister-friend Gracie Hobbs (Ronald), faithful friend Carlotta Lewis and many more. Last but not least she loved being a stepmom to Vanessa Richardson Walters (Derrick) & Nana to Cashmier Carter, Lee Cotton IV & Serenity Richardson all of whom she loved immensely & was proud to be in their lives.

Visitation will be 9:30AM - 11:00AM Saturday January 25,2025 at the Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 E. Market St.), Where funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00AM. Pastor Tony Huggins officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home 330-535-9186
