Barbara Faye McGraw

Barbara Faye McGraw, 84, a beloved soul cherished by many, passed away in Akron on February 19, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Barbara dedicated many years of her life to Banc One before retirement. Her journey began in Cullman, Alabama on June 8, 1939 where she later graced the halls of Good Hope High School and was adored for her beauty by classmates.

Described as the epitome of a southern lady, Barbara's hospitable nature and unwavering kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a strong will that guided her through life, yet she always welcomed strangers with open arms and ensured no one left her home without a full stomach.

Away from work, Barbara found solace in the pages of books and the art of crocheting, nurturing her love for storytelling and creativity. Her gentle spirit and nurturing presence will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she enriched.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Marvin "Mac" McGraw, and granddaughter Cheyanne Delaney Diller.  Barbara leaves behind a constellation of loved ones who will carry her memory including her sister Linda Beaver; daughters Beverly Hanlon, Judy Bishoff, Cricket (Marc) Diller, son Matthew McGraw, grandchildren Rachel (Raul) Bishoff, Alicia (Robert) Bishoff, Zachariah (Aramis) Bennett, Joshua (Megan) Bennett, Phelan (Alma) Diller, great-grandchildren Renae Bennage, Bert Bennage, Miria Bennett, Aiden, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The final rites for Barbara will take place on February 23rd, 2024 at Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 E. Market Street). A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM to bid farewell to a remarkable woman whose memory will continue to brighten the lives of those she touched.
