Barbara Jean Judy (nee Norton) passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in Lewisville, North Carolina. She was born on February 8, 1942, in Parcoal, West Virginia, to Claude Norton and Iona Booth Norton.
Her family moved to Tallmadge, Ohio, where she grew up and graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1960. She worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. She married the love of her life, Bob, in 1963, and they enjoyed 50 wonderful years together. They frequently traveled and were able to visit amazing places in the US and around the world. Following their retirement in 1997, they relocated from Brimfield, Ohio, to Denton, North Carolina, where they loved spending time at the lake with family and friends. In 2017, she moved to Lewisville, North Carolina. She loved being a part of her community. Barbara enjoyed playing cards and was passionately involved in current affairs. She loved to cook and host family and friends, especially around the holidays. Her homemade cheesecake and Texas Sheet Cake were among everyone’s favorites. Barbara enjoyed many friendships and held them near and dear to her heart. She called and wrote to friends often. She enjoyed connecting with people and never met a stranger. She treated everyone with love and care. One of her favorite places was Sunset Beach, North Carolina. She was happy sitting on the porch, with a cup of coffee, watching the sunrise. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Lynn Sultan (Aaron), and their children: Karen (Sal), granddaughter Aria and a grandbaby on the way, Melissa, Julie, Laura (grandson Grey), Adam, and Beth; son, Robert Louis Judy, ( B.J.) and their children, Landon and Gracie; sister Sandra Taylor; brother Bill Alkire, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; herhusband Bob; infant daughter Karen Ann Judy; sister Julia Barker; and brothers Charles and Rudolph Alkire and Dick Norton.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Friday, March 3 with a funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. at the Adams- Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street). Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason (330) 535-9186
