Alwin Waymon

Alwin Lamond “Poppa” Waymon gained his heavenly wings on February 9^th, 2024.

Poppa was born in Akron, OH on September 21, 1967, to the union of Betty Jo and Aurthur Waymon.   He was a 1986 graduate of Akron Buchtel High School.  He definitely had a way about himself that drew people in.  Poppa had an infectious laugh and was always the life of the party.  He had a big personality to go along with his bright smile.  He loved sports and was a force to be reckoned with on the football field in his early high school days. Poppa wasn’t afraid of hard work and was always willing to give a helping hand, especially to his family.  Family meant a great deal to him.  He cherished the monthly family outings that he attended.

He is preceded in death by his mother Betty Jo Waymon.  He will be greatly missed by his children; Latoya, D'Angelo Lamond, Javar, and Destiny. 9 grandchildren. Father, Aurthur (Arletha) Waymon (Valdosta, GA.)  Grandmother, Eloise McDonald.  Sisters: Cassandra Lesia) (Dallas, TX), Charity Waymon (Tallahassee, FL) India Waymon (Daytona, FL).  Brothers: Ezra Waymon (Valdosta, GA), Jeffrey Lowe (Valdosta, GA). Special Aunt, Sylvia Thomas.  Special Cousin, Edreia Jones, along with a host of family and friends.   

Revelation 21:4 - He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
