Allene F. Brown

Allene (Fowler) Brown, 93, was born in Toney, Alabama, and passed away at her home in Akron, Ohio, on December 10, 2023. 

She had enjoyed living in the Akron-Canton area since 1956. Allene enjoyed an active life filled with caregiving for children, regular physical fitness and gardening.  She was highly regarded by all who knew her and always welcomed friends and family to her home with open arms and a satisfying meal.  She was an amazing teacher, nurturer, sounding board and safe space for anyone seeking refuge.  Allene loved her family and found joy in her volunteer work as a classroom grandmother and served as a foster grandparent until she retired in August of 2014. 

Allene was preceded in death by her parents Eddie Lee and Louise,  her loving husband, Willie Brown; son, Robert Lee Fowler; sister, Josephine (Leroy) Davis; and  Special Cousin  Virginia McDaniel.

Allene  is survived by her devoted daughter, Joanne Brown, and three grandchildren, Matthew L. Brown Jr., Matrell L. Brown-(Mahmoud) Gad and Monica D. Brown-(Jason) Lewis. Three great-grandsons, Matthew Brown III, Lamar Jackson, and Lawrence Jackson; four great-granddaughters, Skye L. Solomon, Shaina Brown, Jasmine N. Hawkins-(Karl) Scales and Kelly Anne Brown; Ten great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. 

Memorial services for family and  friends  will be held at Adams-- Mason, and condolences may be sent to the Brown family at 255 N. Portage Path,  Unit 304, Akron 44303
